Network plumbing are no strangers to damaged walls and wet carpets in
older home units, caused by defective shower floors or broken pipes
with the concrete slab that forms the floor
of the unit.
The tell-tales signs are bubbling of cement render on the walls and paintwork or wet spots in the carpet, occasionally a high hot water account can be a tell-tale sign as well.
The causes can be numerous but it is common to find that with shower construction the water proofing of the wall and floor have not been carried out correctly.
With a leaking water pipe within the slab it is often a cracked pipe that has succumbed to expansion and contraction and begins to leak, whilst it is now compulsory to pressure test all water services prior to commissioning and handing over to the client it is not always done and a disaster is just waiting to happen.
Network plumbing has carried out many rectifications in home units and town houses for strata managers, insurance companies and private clients.
We lift carpets run new pipe work usually around the walls of the unit taking care to minimise damage, and inconvenience for the client, test the new pipework and have the carpet relayed.
With shower and bath room leaks we remove tiles, replace the damaged or leaking pipework, test to ensure soundness and then set about waterproofing and re-tiling of the effected area.
Often we are able to access the tiles from private tile sources and this allows your job to look as the rest of the bathroom.
Do it right and do it once, it makes sense really.
