Starlight Children’s Foundation And Network Plumbing

Network Plumbing is a very proud supporter of the Starlight Children’s Foundation. This foundation is very near and dear to our hearts as they brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Last year, Network’s own Colin and Brendan got the chance to visit the Starlight Express Rooms!

There is a Starlight Express Room in every children’s hospital in Australia – WOW! They are run by Captain Starlight and many lovely volunteers. The idea is that illness shouldn’t define a child because sick kids are still kids at heart. The rooms are medical-free zones with no treatments or medical talk allowed.

Colin and Brendan got to experience an Express Room first hand. Filled with toys, music, magic, games and art, the rooms are equipped to handle children of all ages. Colin especially appreciated the separate area filled with video games and grown-up toys for the older kids, so they have their own space away from the younger ones. At night, the rooms are transformed into a teen-only hangout spot where the older kids can meet and work in skill-based workshops.
