We all know we need it, we all probably don’t drink enough of it and even worse – we already know that we feel better when we do drink the right amount each day. In this weeks post, we look at why water filtration is a good idea for your home or office and how you can get it installed.
Your body needs water – no question. Whilst your body can extract water from a range of fluids that you consume, the fastest and healthiest way is by drinking it straight from the tap, a bottle or filtered.
Why choose filtered water?
So what are the advantages of drinking filtered water versus straight up water, and should you get a water filter system installed? While in most urban areas of Australia water is fine to drink from the tap, there are often things that impact its quality. By using water filters you can ensure a level of quality that is important for the health of you, your family or employees.
In addition to health benefits, if you already drink a lot of bottled water then using a filter will save you money, and you should never run out!
Benefits of filtered water
1.Removal of harmful contaminants
2.Reduce odours
3.Remove chlorine and chlorine byproducts
4.Carbon block filters can selectively filter water – leaving in healthy minerals
5.Reduce the chances of water born illness
6.Cheaper than bottled water
7.Tastes better
What are the options for water filters?
There are a few ways to filter the water in your home or office and also different levels of filtration. Some filters will remove odours, others will alter the taste. Some will remove contaminants or viruses and some will remove everything.
What are the types of filtration?
Cillit Valves – these filters remove larger particles from your water and helps prolonged the life of your fittings and appliances. Suited to homes using water tanks to filter water.
Carbon block filters – these are effective at removing chlorine, sediment, organic compounds, taste and odour from water.
Reverse osmosis filtration – this process removes ions and molecules from the water and can remove a wider range of impurities than carbon block filtration.
What are the different types of installation?
Counter top water filters – these are attached to your house hold water supply and will sit on the counter next to your taps.
Under sink water filters – similar to counter top filters but the filter is plumbed in to your water supply out of site, with only the dispenser visible.
Whole of house water filters – these filters are placed further up the line to where the water supply enters your home, and will filter the water for not only your taps but for showers, toilet and internal laundries.
